For simple developments, a Complying Development Certificate (CDC) combines planning and construction clearances. The function of this certificate is to provide confidence that all applicable legislation and construction requirements will be met. Having to apply for one is not only a huge hassle, but it is also very time consuming.

Before the construction or renovation of your property commences, you will need to meet all the appropriate regulatory requirements which come in two options – Development Application or Complying Development Checklist.
A DA is an assessment based on the set of guidelines and parameters set by the local council. The cost of a DA depends on the cost of the proposed project, and being merit-based, will have a unique set of requirements.
A CDC, on the other hand, is a faster process with the local council’s involvement eliminated. Not all projects, however, could qualify for it. The CDC can be conducted by either a private certifier or a local council.
In general, it would take up to 6 months to obtain a DA approval while a CDC can be done in about 3 to 4 months.
Navigating through the entire DA or CDC approval process can be both stressful and time consuming. It can be overwhelming just even thinking where to begin and how to go about the whole process.
When you acquire the services of Q Architects, we will take care of the whole DA or CDC approval process for you. We will prepare all the documentary requirements and follow the progress until we obtain approval, freeing you up of all the hassle.
